Power of the Purse is United Way of Wells County’s premier annual fundraiser, bringing the community together to support early childhood development programs. This exciting event features a raffle of beautifully curated purse packages, including a special “Power Purse,” all designed to inspire generosity and fun. Proceeds support programs like Bookends, Kindergarten Countdown, and the Imagination Library, ensuring a brighter future for the children of Wells County. Join us for an evening of impact, connection, and giving back to our community!

Let the fun begin! A business, non-profit organization, single person, or group of people can come together and create a purse package. The package should include a new purse stuffed with goodies to create a retail value of at least $250.

Purses (along with sponsors) will be displayed during the event and will also be promoted before the event. The purse with a complete description of the purse and contents are due to the United Way office by May 13. We strongly encourage our sponsors to shop locally and support our local businesses!

*If you are unable to donate a complete purse package but still want to participate, you may donate a new item with a retail value of at least $10, and we will pool your donation with other item donations to create purse packages.
