Have you ever thought about how the United Way touches you and the lives of those living in our community every day? The United Way plays a big part in making Wells County a great place to live and work by providing resources to address critical needs in our community.
Some of the United Way supported programs help families struggling financially. Do you know someone who is laid off or cannot find work right now? Someone who is finding it harder and harder to make ends meet? Or maybe you know a single mom trying to stretch a dollar as far as it will go. Or a dad who used to have a high paying job and now works for minimum wage just to put food on the table.
Agencies that provide vital programs in our community are hurting as funding limitations are more prevalent and everyone is being asked to do more with less. United Way of Wells County helps fund several vital programs offered by these agencies right here in our local community. Our goal for 2014 is $300,000. We know that we need to raise that much in order to continue funding the programs we support. Once again, we have a matching grant to provide matching dollars for new and increased gifts (gifts must be over $100). Those matching dollars will allow us to expand our current early childhood programming and Kindergarten Countdown classes.
Will YOU be the ONE to make a difference in Wells County?
